In Windows 11:
- Firstly, press Windows + I altogether to launch the Settings app.
- Then inside the Settings, click on System and select Troubleshooter.
- Now click on Other troubleshooter, and in the next screen, click on the Run tab beside the option Windows update.
- When the update prompts appears before you click on Next and complete the process.
In Windows 10:
- Firstly, launch the Settings app and click on the Update & Security category.
- Then select Troubleshoot from the left pane menu and click on the Additional troubleshooters link.
- Now select the Windows Update option and click on the Run the troubleshooter tab.

Fix 2: Edit Registry:

Fix 5: Install Cumulative Updates Manually:
If any of the above solutions do not help you, then you need to download and install the cumulative updates manually. You can use any third-party updating tool to update your Windows automatically, or you can update manually.
To update manually;
- Firstly, you need to visit the Windows 10 Update History page.
- Then click over the top link under the In this release section and copy the patch number starting with the KB.
- Now go to Microsoft Update Catalog and copy the KB number in the search box, and press Enter.
- Now from the list, select the update based on your system version (32-bit, 64-bit).
- Then click on the Download button; once downloaded, double-click on the setup file and follow the on-screen instructions to install it on your system.
