Enable TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot to install Windows 11: Quick Guide

The Official release of Windows 11 is around the corner, and several users wish to upgrade to this new Operating System. If you are also planning to upgrade to the latest operating system, then you need to enable TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot in BIOS.

Steps to Enable TPM 2.0: 

  • Firstly, launch the Settings and select Update & Security category.
  • Then from the left pane menu, click on Recovery, and click on Restart now button (from the right side of the screen) under the Advanced startup section.
  • In the newly opened window, select Troubleshoot option and click on Advanced options.
  • Now click on UEFI Firmware Settings.
  • Further click on the Restart button.
  • Then depending on your motherboard, click on the advanced, security, or boot settings page.
  • There from the screen, select and switch to Enabled TPM 2.0.

If your system does not have TPM 2.0, you need to purchase a module to get support. You can purchase the module from any trusted site or a nearby outlet.

Enable Secure Boot in BIOS:

Here also, before enabling Secure Boot, you need to verify the Secure Boot is available on your PC. To check that, you need to open the System Information window->System summery->Turn on Secure Boot State option from the left menu. 

Once the Secure Boot State is enabled, you can now enable Secure Boot in BIOS.

Steps to Enable Secure Boot:

  • Firstly, launch the Settings and select Update & Security category. 
  • Then from the left pane menu, click on Recovery, and click on Restart now button (from the right side of the screen) under the Advanced startup section.
  • In the newly opened window, select Troubleshoot option and click on Advanced options.
  • Now click on UEFI Firmware Settings.
  • Further click on the Restart button.
  • Then depending on your motherboard, click on the advanced, security, or boot settings page.
  • Finally, select and Enable the Secure Boot option from the screen. 

Once you completed all the above steps to enable the TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot option, your system will pass the hardware verification process, and you can install Windows 11 quickly.
