How to Install Global Flash File on Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro (vayu)

There are two methods to install the firmware on your device. The first method is to install the recovery ROM and the second method to install the fastboot ROM via Mi Flash Tool.

Install Recovery ROM:

  1. Local Update method:
    1. First, download the recovery ROM zip file and transfer it to your phone
    2. Make sure to place the file in the “downloaded_rom” folder in your internal storage. Create one in your internal storage base directory if there is no such folder.
    3. Now Go to Settings - About Phone - System Update and then press the three-dot icon in the top-right corner.
    4. Select Choose Update Package and select the downloaded zip file
    5. Wait for the update to install.
  2. Recovery method:
    1. To flash via recovery method, first, you need to rename the downloaded .zip file to update.zip.
    2. Transfer the file to the base directory of your Poco X3 Pro’s internal storage.
    3. Reboot your Poco X3 Pro into recovery mode.
    4. Use the Volume key to navigate and select the Install update.zip. To enter, press the power button.
    5. Wait for the update to install.
    6. Your device will now reboot after the installation is completed. If not, you can choose the Reboot option.

Install Fastboot Flash File:

  1. Download the Mi Flash Tool and ADB and Fastboot Tool.
  2. Reboot your Poco X3 Pro into download mode
  3. Connect your phone to the computer using the USB Cable.
  4. Extract the downloaded fastboot ROM.tgz file and copy the location of it where you extracted it.
  5. Open the Mi Flash tool and paste the location of the ROM you extracted.
  6. Click Run to start the flashing process.
  7. Once the installation process completes, you will see a green bar that indicates success. Your device will reboot automatically to the new version.
